1. Visit our car museum.
Kids will love our exotic car museum in Gatlinburg. With our cool lighting and interactive displays, our collection of rare supercars will blow you away. We offer a rotating selection of stunning cars, ranging from Lamborghini to Porsche, and you can even sit in one and have your picture taken! Another thing the kids (and parents) will love is our racing simulators. Speedwerkz provides the ultimate way to experience what being behind the wheel of these incredible cars really feels like!
2. Go to a city park.
With the national park being so close, many families don’t realize that the city of Gatlinburg offers several beautiful parks for you to enjoy. Mynatt Park or Herbert Holt Park are two options, both with playgrounds, walking trails, and picnic areas! There are even sports courts and plenty of space to run around and burn off excess energy. Plus, if you bring a pet on vacation, they can go to the park with you!
3. Take an easy hike to a waterfall.
Kid-friendly hikes in the Smokies include the Gatlinburg Trail, the Kephart Prong Trail, Porters Creek, and Clingmans Dome. But one of our favorites is the less-than-one-mile hike to Cataract Falls! The trailhead begins at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, where you’ll find several other short nature trails to explore. The kids will love discovering the Great Outdoors, and you won’t have to worry about rough terrain or long treks.4. Fill up on delicious Southern food
You and the kids will work up quite the appetite during your visit to Gatlinburg, so of course you need to know where to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! One of the best places for breakfast in Gatlinburg has to be Crockett’s Breakfast Camp. They have massive cinnamon rolls, hearty skillets with eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, and hashbrowns, plus thick griddle-style pancakes, stuffed omelets, and so much more! For lunch, grab a fresh hot dog or chicken sandwich at The Chicken Hut. They’re located in the Regan Terrace area right along the downtown strip, so it’s a convenient spot to hit up before or after visiting Speedwerkz! You can’t go wrong with feeding your kids pizza, so we recommend heading to Big Daddy’s Pizzeria for dinner. Bennett's BBQ is located in the same building, so you could also order your favorite barbeque and all the delicious sides!
