 Eat next door at Ole Red.

After visiting our Gatlinburg attraction, it just makes sense to head next door to Ole Red for delicious food, drinks, and live music! They take traditional bar food to a whole new level, from Redneck Nachos and Southern Fried Cheese Curds to the Oklahoma Onion Burger and Brisket Mac & Cheese. We also highly recommend the fried chicken wings, tossed in your choice of Ole Red hot sauce, Ole Red BBQ sauce, peach habanero, and more. And we couldn’t neglect to mention a runner-up, the grilled bacon-wrapped meatloaf served with cheddar smashed potatoes– it’s Southern comfort food at its finest! 

Do some shopping along the downtown strip. 

Browsing through the many unique shops and stores along the downtown strip is a great way to find one-of-a-kind treasures and souvenirs. Plus, you can start your Christmas shopping early and find some great gifts for family and friends! The Village Shops and Baskin Square are just two of the many shopping areas we know will have something for everyone. And it wouldn’t be a trip to Gatlinburg Tennessee without getting a fresh, hot donut from The Donut Friar or sweet fudge from Aunt Mahalia’s Candies!

Walk the Gatlinburg Trail. 

Did you know there is a hiking trail accessible in downtown Gatlinburg? You can begin at the trailhead just off of River Road and come out inside the national park at Sugarlands Visitor Center. It’s a little less than two miles one-way, and it’s one of the only pet-friendly trails in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You could also take your bikes out instead for a family bike ride along this flat trail. It’s peaceful along the river, and there’s plenty of opportunity to soak in the scenery and spot wildlife along the way.
